Morning

In Prague I saw an exhibition of 19th century Czech painter Jakub Schikaneder whose dark moody canvases might have snuck into my subconscious and influenced this painting. Coming upon this early morning scene before stores had opened, I was struck by the big abstract shadows on the wall contrasting with the sharp geometry of the abandoned grocery cart.
